Bach and arranged them for unaccompanied cello. Bach was himself an inveterate arranger of his own and other people´s music, including Vivaldi violin concertos which he arranged for harp sichord; the skill is in making the arrangements as believable as the originals. Freyhan does this with consumate skill; for example, his arrangement of Jesu Joy of man´s Desiring gives the impression of both the chorale melody and the obbligato being played simultaneously.
