The version then published was merely a substantially revised version which had been transposed to D major. Our new edition reconstructs the work´s original state (in A major), taking the common performance practice principles of articulation and dynamics into account. A rewarding, yet fairly easy piece suitable for lessons and concerts which can be regarded as an important link to Beethoven´s sonatas.
