Premier Concert - 28 / 71cm- Fiberglaskessel Premier Concert - 28 / 71cm- Fiberglaskessel Premier’s Concert Series timpani are also available with aluminium and fibreglass bowls. These instruments provide a lighter-weight alternative to the copper bowl model. The aluminium bowl however still provides many qualities associated with a metal bowl in terms of projection and pureness of sound. With the introduction of a new 32” fibreglass bowl, both ranges are now available in all five sizes. These series are extremely popular in schools and colleges where instruments are often moved around from classroom to concert hall and are played by numerous students at all stages of their musical education. The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, for example, have always played Premier timpani. The Concert Series timpani are also popular in brass and wind ensembles where a budget may be in place and for whom frequent transport is a consideration. The aluminium and fibreglass instruments have synthetic heads and powder-coated counterhoops. The metal bowls have waxed bearing edges and the fibreglass are Teflon taped which together with the perfectly-balanced radial rods, ensure silent/non-creaking tuning. All Concert Series timpani provide a minimum range of one sixth through means of a Premier action pedal.
